Farrans (Construction) Limited receives top environmental accolade

Farrans has received a top ‘green’ accolade from Business in the Community’s ARENA Network by achieving Platinum status, ranking overall 4th out of 250 compnaies in Northern Ireland, and first in the construction sector at this year’s 13th Northern Ireland Environmental Benchmarking Survey Results.

The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents Award

Wendy Armstrong, on behalf of Farrans, was presented the RoSPA Gold Award by Lord Brougham & Vaux CBE, RoSPA Vice President.

The presentation took place at the RoSPA Occupational Health & Safety Awards Ceremony, on Thursday September 22, 2011 held at the Glasgow Hilton Hotel. 

Engineers Ireland Award

At the Engineers Ireland awards ceremony, held in Dublin on Wednesday 5th October Farrans won the Engineers Ireland Continuous Professional Development (CPD) Award for Large-Sized Companies.

Considerate Constructor Awards

At the Considerate Constructors Scheme National Site Awards 2011 Farrans' Teams picked up the following awards:

• Darrell McGuckian Silver Award for Altnagelvin Hospital Phase 3.2b
• Andrew Connolly Bronze Award for the Belfast Streets Ahead Phase 1 Project
• Phillip Browne Bronze Award for the Normanhurst Fire Station

Chartered Institute of Building Award

The CIOB Ireland Construction Manager of the Year Awards were held in Dublin on the 10th June 2011. Glenn Gilmore, a Site Agent with our Healthcare Division, won his Category and a well-deserved Silver Medal for his management of our prestigious Trauma & Orthopaedic Theatres at Craigavon Area Hospital.
